Everybody Art GDT - circle or square

Hello again :o)

I'm back with my 2nd post for today, this one is for the new challenge at Everybody Art, where our theme is 'circle or square'.

I nearly always make square cards, so thought I'd go with a circle for a change.  I used a cute new clear stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique, called Bunny Baby, kept the design simple and paper pieced the stamp, using an embossing tool to round out each of the pieces for a slightly 'padded' look.  The coloured in parts were done with copics, the sentiment is included with the image stamp, and all the circles were cut using the stitched & pierced plain and scalloped circle dies from Craft Stash.  All the edges are lightly inked with distress ink in Spun Sugar.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Cardz 4 Galz - anything but square
Simon Says Wednesday - layer it up

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Papercraft Challenges - pastel colours

Hello everyone :o)

I have two posts for today, so here's the first... Our theme over at Papercraft Challenges is 'pastel colours', and we're sponsored by Dr Digi who kindly provided the DT with images to use.

I'm not great at keeping things pastel, so my colouring definitely ended up a bit brighter than I intended!  The image is called Quackers and it's coloured with copics.  The papers are old ones from LOTV (now retired), the stitched circles and pink banner shape are MFT dies, ovals are Nestabilities and the hearts pins were from the Hobby House.  The sentiment is a clear stamp from Digi Stamp Boutique, available HERE.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says Wednesday - layer it up
Allsorts - old favourites (the papers)

I'll be back later with my card for Everybody Art... thanks for popping in :o)

Sweet Stampin' - Valentine or love

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my DT card for Sweet Stampin', where we have a 'Valentine or love' theme this week.

I bought some super cute little dog images recently from Bugaboo, so I thought I'd get one of them used... I coloured him with copics and added lots of Nuvo clear sparkle pen over the hearts (which just looks streaky in the photos, but is nice and shimmery in real life!).  The papers are old ones from LOTV (now retired), sentiment is one of the new clear stamps from Digi Stamp Boutique available HERE, the fishtail dies are MFT die-namics and I think the heart might be Lil' Inkers... teeny button from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Catch the Bug - Stella Says Sketch (fab sketch)
Crafty Catz - anything goes + optional something new (the image)
Cute Card Thursday - buttons (just one very small one!)

We went to watch Morgan in his first under-16s basketball game yesterday... there was slight confusion over which team he'd made it onto lol, he originally thought it was the Sharks but it's actually the basketball team that Sheffield United run.  They played Rotherham and lost, but Morgan scored a lot of the points so they asked him to stay and play the under-18s game too... which they also lost!  But it's all good practice eh?  And he's having fun, so it's all good.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Annie All Occasions - Digi Stamp Boutique DT

Hello everyone :o)

I'm here with my DT card for Digi Stamp Boutique, using an adorable little dog image...

This is Peeking Annie from the Annie All Occasions set... less than £1 at the moment for loads of cute images and sentiments too!  The sentiment I used was from THIS clear stamp set though.  I coloured the image with copics, the papers are Basic Grey 'Oxford', blue twine and button from my stash, and an MFT die-namics banner die.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says Wednesday - add a sentiment
Cute Card Thursday - something fun
Crafty Catz- anything goes + optional male birthday

I've had a lovely day with my friend today, doing what we'd planned to do last week on my birthday and then didn't because I wasn't well.  So we had a long walk with the dogs (we do this most weeks anyway), then went to Meadowhall and had hot chocolate at the new Godiva cafe... it was a little work of art and it seemed a shame to drink it lol, wish I'd taken a photo of it!  Then we had a little shopping session, and I actually bought clothes for myself, which very rarely happens... and then pizza for lunch.  And I'm off to another friend's for coffee and cake this evening, so it's been a bit of a naughty day really!

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Anything Goes at Polkadoodles

Morning everyone :o)

I'm here with my DT card for Polkadoodles, where our challenges are always 'anything goes' for participants, but the DT are following the theme of 'winter birthday'.

I don't really make 'winter birthday' cards as such... I find they can often end up looking like Christmas cards, and having a winter birthday myself (and loads in our family too) I like it to be totally separate from Christmas.  So I chose an image that looked fairly warmly dressed and some chilly colours, and that's about as wintery as I get!

I've used a gorgeous image called January Heart on Your Sleeve, coloured with copics.  The papers are from the Belle Papillon paper pad and the sentiment was made using stamps from the fab Build Your Own Male Sentiments set.  The flowers are my favourite MFT die-namics die and the buttons are from my stash... I actually intended to use the plain side of that spotty button, but went on auto-pilot and put the glue on the wrong side lol, so it's one of those happy accidents that all the buttons are different!  Oh, and there's a Doodlebug sparkly enamel dot on the image's flower.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
As You Like It - your favourite die and why (I love this flower die and use it ALL the time, probably too much!  It just fits in so nicely when I want something pretty but not too fussy)
Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Fab n Funky - girly
Simon Says Wednesday - add a sentiment

Mum's home from hospital, but still really not well... not sure if it's the flu causing it or a reaction to one of the medications she now has to take, but she can't keep any food down and is getting very fed up.  I'm still shaking off my cold, so haven't risked going to see her yet, as the last thing she needs is more germs!  I'm feeling much better now though, so hopefully I can go at the weekend.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Guest DT at Everybody Art - Butterfly or Heart

Hello :o)

I was asked to be Guest DT at Everybody Art Challenge for a while, and was happy to accept.  The new challenge is 'butterfly or heart', and I went with the heart theme...

I've used one of the new clear stamps from DigiStamp Boutique... isn't this little elephant adorable?!  The sentiment is included with the stamp. You can find it HERE in the Clear Stamp Boutique, and if you prefer digistamps, you can find it HERE.  I coloured it with copics, with a touch of Nuvo clear sparkle on the little boots and hearts.  The papers were from The Works, but they don't seem to be available now.  The dies are the Memory Box corner bow and precious hearts, cut up and put together, with a Doodlebug enamel dot to finish.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Simon Says Wednesday - use patterned paper
Crafty Catz - anything goes + optional one for the ladies

It's my birthday today, but I'm not really doing anything... Mum's still in hospital - they've decided she's got flu now, on top of last week's heart attack.  She's doing ok though!  I haven't been able to visit her, because I have a rotten cold (NOT flu, it's NOT going to be flu...) and don't want to give her my germs too.  As I feel ill (and it's snowing today, on and off), I've cancelled my birthday plans... I'm staying in where it's warm, and spending some of my birthday money online instead lol.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely day :o)

Sweet Stampin' - lots of layers

Hello :o)  Thanks for all your lovely comments about my mum... unfortunately, although she was sent home from hospital a few days ago, she collapsed and passed out at home today so she's been taken back in.  I'm still waiting for news of how she's doing.

I'm here with my card for this week's challenge at Sweet Stampin', where our challenge is 'lots of layers', which is basically my usual style!

This was Dexter's birthday card - he loves our ginger cat (Boris) and the colour purple, so I used some leftover bits of Doodlebug papers and that fab cat from Gerda Steiner Designs, coloured with copics.  I've just signed up for the monthly pencil class with Kit & Clowder though, so maybe I'll actually start getting some use out of my Prisma pencils - Pav's bought me the year of classes for my birthday, and he's let me have them a few days early.  Maybe some mindless colouring (and knitting) will help take my mind off things.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Fab n Funky - happy
Little Red Wagon - boy oh boy
Simon Says Wednesday - use patterned paper

Ooh, I almost forgot - some good news for today is that Morgan has been selected for the Sheffield Sharks under-16s basketball team... how amazing is that?!  Super proud of him, and he's so excited.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening :o)

Piggy Wedding - DigiStamp Boutique DT

Hello :o)

Anyone familiar with my blog might know that I make a piggy birthday card each year, for my mum to give to her friend (who loves pigs... it's not some sort of insult lol).  That friend married her partner at the weekend, and of course my mum wanted a piggy themed card... now, funnily enough, it's not easy to find pig themed wedding images!  I mean really, what bride wouldn't want pigs on her wedding card?

So... I found two sweet pigs in the Lil Piggy Valentine set from DigiStamp Boutique, and merged them to create one image... t'was the best I could do!  The piggies are coloured with copics, with Nuvo clear sparkle pen on the hearts and flower.  The papers are old ones from LOTV (now retired), heart banner is a La-La Land die, shaped frame die is from a Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities set, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, a very old leaf punch, plus ribbon and gems from my stash.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Animal Friends - new beginning
Crafty Catz - anything goes + optional sparkle
MAWTT - flowers

Also, in case you haven't already spotted it, there is now a Clear Stamp Boutique in the DigiStamp Boutique store!  Perfect for all those who prefer a real stamp... there's a lovely little selection on there already, and more will be launched soon.  I have some in my inky little mitts, so I shall be playing with those very soon!

It was Dex's 10th birthday yesterday, but all our plans went out the window because my mum was taken to hospital with a suspected heart attack.  She'd had what she thought was a cold for a couple of days, went to her friend's wedding and started to feel more poorly, but still just thought it was a bug.  On Sunday she started vomiting, but still thought it was a bug... when she had some chest pains and pins & needles in her arms and legs her husband insisted on an ambulance.  Still, nobody really thought it was a heart attack, but they've been treating it as one while they did all the necessary tests... anyway, she had an angiogram today and it turns out it was a heart attack!  She's had a stent put in, and we're off to see her this evening.

Thanks for popping in, hope you have a lovely evening xx

Polkadoodles DT - anything goes

Hello and Happy New Year!

It's time for a new challenge at Polkadoodles... the DT have all followed a 'thank you' theme, but it's anything goes for participants as usual.  Lots of prizes to be won and you can use anything you like, not just Polkadoodles products.

I've used a cute Winnie image, available HERE, coloured with copics.  The pretty papers and scrabble letters are from the Work & Play Love & Kisses set.  The corner die is Whimsy, and I added a Doodlebug enamel dot and a couple of sequins.

I'm entering my card for the following challenges
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes
As You Like It - anything goes

I'm slightly on edge today as Morgan's gone to Meadowhall on his own to meet his friends... we've gradually gone from dropping him off for a couple of hours, to taking him to the tram stop and watching him get on the right tram, to today where he's getting on the bus and going on his own... eek!  He's 15 though, so he's definitely old enough, I'm just over-protective!  And I'll probably pick him up later, or I'll be worrying about him getting on the wrong bus lol.  I'm not good at this 'letting them grow up' thing...

Thanks for popping in :o)
